Custom
Coils, Inc. was incorporated in Texas on July 19, 1971. Gerald Dankowski,
a Dallas businessman, founded the company, along with a sister company
– Coil Co, Inc., as a subsidiary of The Anvil Corporation. The
purpose of these companies, along with several others, was to supply
component parts such as coils to his other operation, Danhard Incorporated.
Danhard manufactures aftermarket and specialty air conditioning systems.
The market focus then was automotive. Automobile add-ons, heavy truck,
passenger buses, and replacement coils for OEM models were the main
thrust of sales.
Operations began in late 1971 in a 15,000 square foot building on
the north side of Jacksonville, Texas. The production capabilities
of Custom Coils, Inc. quickly grew larger than the parent company’s
needs, so sales were expanded to other manufacturers in the Dallas-Ft
Worth area. With steady growth, the facility was able to acquire additional
equipment and the original building was doubled in size. In the early
1980’s sales were mainly mobile in nature. Recognizing the need
to diversify its customer base, a concerted effort was made to grow
into the HVACR market. Sales representatives were signed up to actively
pursue that portion of the market.
US Holdings Group purchased the company in 1986. Sales grew continuously
during the 1980’s and 90’s. The additional sales brought
about the need for more space and equipment. In 2000 the facility
was enlarged to its present size of 45,000 square feet. |
